We approach the millennial change. At Pressalit we find it deserves something spectacular, so we launch Diablo (1999) – a toilet seat with horns and cigar. More precisely a cigar-shaped hinge, containing quick-release and braking effect.

The seat – with its diabolic look – is a good example of Pressalit’s talent for astonishing new suggestions for the design of a toilet seat. And a good example also of Pressalit’s design philosophy: All details must be justified, must offer an advantage for the consumer and contribute to the total form language. Nothing “ornamental”! As for Diablo, the horns mark where to grip to lift and lower the seat. They – the horns - were actually (somewhat prosaically…) named hygiene handles.

However, it is all history: Since 2003, Diablo is no longer produced. (But the concept with handles is pursued in some of the wooden seats in the actual product programme).
