1966 is another milestone in the Pressalit-saga. The company presents its first designer seat, Pressalit Comfort. The story behind the seat involves the famous designer duo Sigvard Bernadotte and Acton Bjørn. They had been asked to design a heating radiator vent for Pressalit, a business area dropped soon afterwards.

The two designers, best known for their Margrethe mixing bowl design, asked if they could offer their version of the toilet seat of the future. The result was Pressalit Comfort, an unusual seat by the standards of the day. Like all ground-breaking designs, it divided people into two camps, those who were rapturous and those who shook their heads in disbelief that someone had had the idea to make a toilet seat that “looked strange and was expensive, to boot.” Most people were impressed, and the Pressalit tradition for design was created, somewhat by coincidence…

In the late sixties, Martin Jensen buys the investor families’shares and thereby becomes sole proprietor of the ompany. (One of the two founders had withdrawn in 1961, the other was killed in a car accident in 1967).
