The factory had over the years been extended according to requirements, but in the early eighties it became clear that soon more radical changes were needed.

In 1982 some of the managers in the production attended a seminar named “Renewal from the inside”. The starting point was the business we came from. The assignment was titled “Present your ideas on a new and ideal factory without regard to existing facilities or money”.

The Pressalit people made drawings, calculations and wrote into the night. When they went home they brought along with them a blueprint for a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant and a DKK 32 million cost estimate.

Mogens Boyter did not need much time for considerations, and in 1988 the new plant was ready with robots, fully automated press machines and noise and waste hidden away in the basement. And not one penny over budget!
