Where can I buy a Pressalit toilet seat?

The typical place to go is to your local bathroom shop or plumber. If you have any doubts please call us or send us an email and we will help you find a dealer in your area. Pressalit toilet seats are not sold through the DIY sector.

The seat is broken – what should I do?

There is a 10 year guarantee on your toilet seat, so find your receipt and go to the shop where you purchased the seat. They will then contact their supplier and arrange for a replacement seat if within the guarantee period.

The hinge is broken – what should I do?

If you do not already know which model you have, check on the inside of the cover – here the name of the seat should be engraved. Contact the place where you bought the seat and they should be able to help you with a replacement hinge. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

The hinge is becoming rusty - what can I do?

Before doing anything else please clean the hinges thoroughly with a soft cloth and hot soapy water. It is possible that the brown appearance has been caused by dirt and cleaning will solve the problem.
However, the hinges may be rusty as a result of the use of abrasive or corrosive cleaning materials, especially bleach products.  These will attack the hinges and cause permanent damage which it is impossible to repair.  Pressalit will not entertain complaints due to the use of abrasive cleaners as very clear instructions not to use these are included with every seat.  New hinges can be obtained from your dealer.

Which seats fit on my toilet pan?

Click on Products – Product range – Choose area – "What seats fit my toilet". Here you can find the best solution for your toilet pan, either on the basis of make or on the basis of form. Naturally you are also welcome to contact us with your question.

How do I clean my toilet seat?

Please use a mild soap solution (no chlorine based or other abrasive/corrosive cleaners) and then dry seat and hinges with a soft cloth. If you have a wooden seat please do not put the cover down until seat and cover are completely dry. Seat and hinges should not get in contact with the cleaner for the pan itself so please make sure that seat and cover are in an upright position until all the cleaner has been flushed away.

There are stains on my toilet seat – what can have caused them?

Stains on the under side of the toilet seat or cover may occur due to a mixture of urine and hard water being left to dry on the seat.  Here again regular cleaning will prevent stains but they can be removed by firm rubbing with a soft cloth and hot soapy water. In some cases a non-abrasive car polish may help to remove such stains.

My toilet seat is discoloured – why is this?

Pressalit toilet seats are made from high quality duroplast.  The colour of the seat is ingrained, i.e. the colour goes right through the material rather than being just on the surface.  With proper care there should be no discolouration at all.  However, if the toilet pan is cleaned with chlorine based products (bleach) the vapour may cause discolouration of the underside of the seat and cover.  If this occurs treatment with a non-abrasive car polish may repair the damage but the influence of chlorine over a long period of time may cause irreparable damage.
